*FOR TWITTER* Lily - Yorkie / Maltese - Mix Dog Is STILL Missing From Howell, MI...

Hi Readers!

I've been thinking of doing a "Twitter Blog Post" for the continued search for Lily. I've been trying to come up with good words to trend for her every time I tweet my last post, so that her picture and information can get out into the Twitter world too. As many of you know, Twitter has really become a popular form of social networking, some people hate it and some people LOVE it, I think more people are moving towards loving it now. At first it is pretty difficult to understand how it works and what it's purpose is. I like to use it for my blogs, just in case someone searches for a trend or topic on Twitter and they come across my profile :) I am now going to use it to spread the word even more about Lily now....

So far I have come up with four words to trend on my posts. If you come across this and read it and can think of any others to add, please leave a comment and we can definitely look into using them - anything new can help!

If you have a Twitter account, please consider tweeting this post, and/or my last recent post about Lily, that you can get by clicking here, and use these words to try get the trending up (the words must have NO spaces in between them) :

#lilythemissingyorkiemaltesemix
#missingpet
#missingdog
#howellmichigan

If you don't know how to do this, all you do is when you have put my blog link into your Twitter status section, put #lilythemissingyorkiemaltesemix etc., with it. For eg. if I was using my last recent post about Lily, my Twitter status would look like this :

#lilythemissingyorkiemaltesemix #missingpet #missingpet #howellmichigan http://southafricangirlinamerica.blogspot.com/2012/10/lily-yorkie-maltese-mix-dog-is-still.html

You can put the words you choose to use before or after the blog link. You don't have to use all of the trending words at the same time if you don't want to, I do it just so that I know it'll keep showing when someone searches for "missing pet" or "howell michigan" on their Twitter for eg.

If you don't have a Twitter account, and would like to help escalate the trending words and showing her face more, it is really easy to start your own account. You'd be helping a bunch too :) If you don't have an account, all I ask is if you could please keep sharing this post or my last recent one about Lily.

THANK YOU ALL!! I am sure Tricia will really appreciate all your help! :)

Spicer Orchards Farm Market....

Today Dustin, Max and I went to Spicer Orchards Farm Market to pick some Pumpkins to carve, have some freshly made Donuts and get some Apple Cider. I was so excited I felt like a kid again, haha....

You'll probably all wonder why our new addition Chewy didn't come with us. Well, Mr Chewy is still working on his behavior (comes with him being a rescue dog), around new people coming close to us, or when he doesn't expect a person to "appear", also with other dogs. I knew that kids would be at the place, and knew that if Chewy behaved the way he does sometimes, he would frighten both the kids and parents. So I decided he should stay at home. We did get him a pumpkin though, lol...

It was pretty cold and so we didn't stay there too long, but Max seemed to enjoy running around (on a leash), and meeting a new friend - a donkey, lol...

Here are some pics....

When Dustin got the Pumpkins onto the patio, Max and Chewy went out for some fresh COOL air, so I thought I'd try get some cute pics of Chewy and both of them together with the pumpkins, this is what I ended up with... I thought they came out pretty cute :)

Have an awesome Fall everyone and for those going into Summer have an awesome Summer :)

Lily - Yorkie / Maltese - Mix Dog Is STILL Missing From Howell, MI

HELLO EVERYONE!!

Some of you will remember my last post about this precious little girl LILY, that went missing from Howell, Michigan 7 months ago. SHE IS STILL MISSING!! I have seen quite a few posts from people on Facebook Lost Pets Pages telling us all about how days, months even YEARS went by and they were reunited with their pets!! It can happen, but we need to continue to network their faces and get the pictures of these dear pets out there for everyone to see!!

I would hate this one to end up being YEARS till they are reunited, so please when you read this blog post PLEASE share it EVERYWHERE you can think of - NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD!! Just get her face and information out there.

This isn't the only lost pet I am interested in, it is just closer to my heart, because Max is also a little pup, we live in the same town that LILY went missing (very close to the place she went missing), and I would LOVE to do everything I can to keep getting her face out there. Tricia needs her angel back, and I am 110% sure that LILY needs and wants TRICIA back!!

IF YOU NOTICE A FRIEND / FAMILY MEMBER HAS RECENTLY SUDDENLY GOTTEN A "NEW" DOG SIMILAR TO LILY, TAKE A GOOD LOOK AND MAKE SURE IT IS NOT LILY. Imagine if it was your pet or family member (pets are family)!!

There is still a $1000 REWARD - NO QUESTIONS ASKED for her safe return.

Message from Lily's owner :

"STILL MISSING $1000 REWARD for whoever returns her to I'd safely!! My little Lily (Yorkie/Maltese-mix) went missing in Howell, off of Grand Oaks Drive and Grand River. She is a 2 year old female, 4-5lbs, black, tan and grey. PLEASE help me find her. I love and miss her so much. I can't eat or sleep, and I feel like my heart has been shattered. She helped me get through my fathers passing and I can't imagine being without her. Call me with any information.... I greatly appreciate any help at all to bringing her home. Thank you.

Tricia (989) 277 9632"

My Name, My New Part-time Job, My Accent, My Skin Colour and My Country...

My Name :

What is it with the names KIRSTY and KRISTY?? How do so many people here in America get my name WRONG?? Is it because people are lazy when they read? If I changed my name to Kristy (not gona happen, lol), would they then call me KIRSTY!!

My New Part-time Job and My Name #2:

I recently started working at Kohls in Howell, MI. Wow but are they an awesome company to work for!! Such amazing people work there! Anyways, when I applied for a job, I knew that there would be an issue with them calling me KRISTY and I knew it would ANNOY me to no end, so I had to prepare myself, LOL... Well what happened when I went for Orientation? The lady that did the Orientation the day I went in, amazingly asked me when she was showing us how to clock in on the machine, if my name was Kristy or KIRSTY, she had read it correctly as KIRSTY and written my name on my training schedule correct, BUT the lady that entered my information into their system entered my name in as KRISTY!! I knew it would happen so I just let it slide, lol... The lady at Orientation even printed out a label for my name badge correct that day (YAY!), so I was starting to feel pretty good, because now most the new people at Orientation now knew what my REAL name was, after I "moaned" about so many Americans always getting it wrong, haha...

I love my name, and lots of people that I correct or read my name right always tell me that they love my name, and think it is "unique" (to them that's for sure, haha). I am pretty sure that there are a lot more than just TWO Kirst(y)ie's that populate America - Kirstie Alley and myself :D

My Accent :

When I officially started on POS I knew there was another issue I was going to have as well as them reading my name wrong, it is none other than my ACCENT!! Everyone thinks I come from England, but I am now just happy to educate at least some people about different accents and a different country. They are always so surprised when I say that I am actually from South Africa, and tell me they would never have thought of that. Why is this?....

My Skin Colour and My Country:

... because the fact that I AM WHITE and come from South Africa!! (This is in no way a racial thing, so please no issues about this from readers). Yes along with coming from another country like South Africa, comes the questions / comments about my skin colour. It is so apparent that MANY people know Africa as just a whole, and they see Africa as just having African people that populate it. So in turn think that even South African people are also all African :) I don't always get the shocked face and then the "but you white?" question with every customer that comes through, but I do get a lot of the shocked faces and just "wow okay, that's awesome... you sound so British" replies. LOL.

I guess its a good thing that the customers at least get a little education after their shopping at Kohls :)

Well that's my long, boring post done....

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND ALL!!

Chewys Adoption...

As reported in an earlier post of mine, Max had a guest here at home.... Well that specific guest was Chewy (we saw him at an adoption event and signed to foster him and see how it went), he ended up staying here for an extended time and became Dustins shadow. He was getting on really well with Max and gelled pretty well with us. Dustin decided that Chewy had stolen his heart so we went ahead with things to make him an official family member.

The adoption of Chewy was made official yesterday at Petsmart in Commerce, MI. There was A LOT of paperwork to sign and read through, but both Max and Chewy did well waiting until it was over. We adopted him from Home Fur Ever, click the name if you are interested in reading more about them, it is their Facebook page. They are a rescue group here in Michigan. Chewys foster Mom before us was Nicole - she is such a great lady, so friendly, and LOVES animals :)

Here is a pic of us 4 at the adoption yesterday (had to do some serious editing, and still don't like it, oh well I want you all to see something though...)

Welcome to the family Chewy!!
